I just love the router table. It is one of the most versatile equipment that you will get for your workshop. But you need to be careful while choosing a router table for your workshop. If you do not show much care while buying or making a router table, then it will not prove to be of any help to you.

The router table functions as a base for the router in your workshop. The table gives the router more support and stability so that you can perform your woodworking with much ease. The router table also gives the router much needed movement space, especially vertically, so that it can provide a deep cut as and where required.

The important parts of a router table are the quality of the table top, the fence, the positioning of the router within the table, the stability of the table and a safety switch. Although all the parts are important, but you must never avoid the safety switch. It allows you to shut down the router within a fraction of a second and thus, you can save yourself from an accident.

You must also be careful about the quality of the router table. It must have a flat surface and be resistant to friction. The common materials used for the table top are either aluminum or MDF layered with melamine.

Also keep an eye for the fine adjustment capabilities of your router table. The fine adjustment is required to give you the perfect result, as you will not like to compromise with your woodwork.

Stability of the router table is also an important factor. Most cheap router tables are not that stable. In that case you need to use a bit of your handy work and make hem stable. A cabinet type of stand is a perfect means of providing the required stability to the router table.

Spray Finishing Booths for Wood Working
So if you have been woodworking as a business or you are seriously involved in the hobby, you might want to think about purchasing a spray booth somewhere down the line. A spray booth is a huge step up in a woodworking system and can improve your build times and increase your margin. They do however require some knowledge before using them. You will need to pre plan your ventilation before installing the unit.
When we operated our small furniture business we found that we always in some part of the finishing process. Each part had to be primed, painted, artwork and then sealed. Spraying is just about the only way that you can increase this timely process. When you have a spray booth you will find a way to automate more of your finishing processes since you will have taken the steps to improve your assembly. Not only will spraying your product finishes save you time, but the look is a nice improvement over traditional brush finishes. About the only drawback is if you are marketing the hand painted look.
Spraying takes some practice, so you will need to work on your skills and purchase a decent sprayer as well. Having a stockpile of primer and various color paints as well as stains and finishes will make your job go much faster.

You can effectively paint wood finished products that include:
• toys
• bedroom furniture
• conference tables
• Pianos
• dining room tables
• office furniture
• Children’s furniture

Spray finishing booths are not costly and should be seen as a investment. They give the right finish to your wood working products. If you want high quality finishes to your wood working products then it's a must.
You might want to weigh the cost of purchasing your own equipment verses outsourcing as well. Outsourcing will take some management since you will have to oversee the movement of parts back and forth from the vendor. A lot of time this may take a person that is hired to specifically do this job for you.

There are a number of misconceptions about buying reconditioned tools. With a little research, you can easily save 50%, or more! And when dealing with a reputable company, there is very little risk of disappointment. In some cases, you could save up to 75% of the list price!

Many of these tools are lightly used, then returned to the store for a refund. Almost all tool manufacturers off a 30 day money back guarantee, if you're not satisfied. The tools that are returned to the store end up in the reconditioned departments.

There are some people that will actually buy the tool, and then return it after completing a certain task with it. It's sad, but true.

The manufacturer can't sell them as new, and they do have verify the tool is perfect operating condition, prior to reselling it. These are not little nickel and dime manufacturers, but top brand names such as Porter Cable, Delta, Dewalt, Black and Decker, Milwaukee, Skill, Hitachi, Makita,

Their options are to sell it as a reconditioned tool, or trash it. Common sense from a business stand point is to try to reduce the loss to as close to a break even point as possible. So, there loss is your gain.

The types of tools available are limitless. Table saws, miter saws, band saws, drills, screw guns, every brand and model of cordless power tools, even cordless power tool batteries can be bought at a fraction of the list price for a new tool.

Granted, some outfits will sell used and abused tools, but the majority of retailers are selling top quality tools, in like new condition. Most offer the same 30 day money back guarantee, some for store credit, some for a full cash refund.

So, if you do just a little reading about company policies, prior to parting with any of your tool budget, you stand to get no less than twice as many tools as you would buying new.

My personal feeling is I would rather have more tools, and be able to accomplish so much more.
