Another popular combination of items are the Miter Track (large), the Large T-track and the 10-005 Bench Dog Feather Board.

1.  If you are thinking about building a router table, most people are opting for the larger version.  They usually have some sort of cabinet in mind or some sort of custom stand that works in their shop.  The Large miter track is popular since it fits standard accessories made for miter tracks.  The ability to put in a feather board or even a coping sled into the track makes it a desirable feature to have on your router table.

2.  T-track is so very versatile and is one reason why a lot of people buy it.  One thing you have to make sure of is the size bolts that fit into the track your interested in.  Sometimes T-track will only fit a standard 1/4-20 hex head bolt and sometimes it will also take a 8mm head (RTD brand)

3.  Feather Boards are super handy in the shop and can be used on the router table as well as the table saw.  The 10-005 Model has the extra piece of metal that adapts it to miter track use.  You can remove it and use the hex bolts in the t-track as well. This feature makes it a very versatile piece and adds a value of safety into the workshop.

We get a lot of questions about these three items so we will  attempt to give you brief summary and try to answer a few questions about each.

1.  Router Table Lift, the PRL series is fast taking over in the router table lift accessory because it is a great innovation to the router table itself.  The lift allows you to make small adjustments above the table and keeps you from lifting the router and insert out of the router table.  Once you have it installed you will love the different ways in which you can make adjustments to your project.  With it, you will find yourself becoming more exact and turning out better doors.

2.  Router Table Dust collection.  Everyone knows that when you turn on the router it can make a mess faster than any other tool in the shop.  This unique and very affordable dust collection system helps solve all that.  Instead of having some type of cabinet or shroud around the router, this unit collects the dust and debris at two sources and works amazingly well.

3.  Twist Lock Router Plate Insert Ring set.  If you are buying or even contemplating the PRL router table lift we mentioned above, then this is a no brainer.  It is designed to fit the lift and gives you more options to choose from to match bit sizes that you may be spinning.  There is nothing like adding a more "zero clearance" type of approach to your router table.

  1. The Premium Router Table package by Woodpeckers
  2. The Raised Panel Router Bit set by Blue Tornado
  3. Coping sled by Woodpeckers
These three go together well since they are all related and they all complement the larger router table package.  No doubt the phenolic table by woodpeckers is a beast of a table that is loaded with features.  It allows you to instantly put it to work making raised panels.  Which leads us to the raised panel router bit set, why not have a premium set to go with a premium table.  Most people wait to buy a nice set and then have to start their research all over again.  This leads us to our third item, the coping sled.  If you are making raised panels, you must have a coping sled.  The sled holds the stiles and rails firmly and safely so that you can route them on the router table.  Without it, you raise the safety concerns in the shop since these are big bits and you are making end grain cuts.

If you like the thought of building your own quality items for your home, you will probably love this Tongue and Groove router bit set by Blue Tornado.  This set can be used for creating tongue and groove joints for such things as flooring, panelling and just about any other project you can think of.  A neighbor friend of mine tore down an old barn and saved every bit of wood that made up the entire structure.  He slowly took the wood and prepared it to be his new kitchen floor in their kitchen on the farm.  Tongue and grooves were the joint he used  to make a tight and effective joinery in the old wood, what a great job!  Below is a video that can also help you figure out how to put these bits to work for you.
